The restaurant at 4891 Old York Road announced Sunday, Aug. 2, was its last day in business. A Google listing showed the eatery as “permanently closed” as of Monday afternoon.
“Thank you for every visit, every order, and every bit of support you’ve given us along the way,” management wrote in a farewell message shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “It’s meant more than you know.”
Details on what led to the closure weren’t made public. CharlotteFive reached out to Shane’s Rib Shack of Rock Hill for more information on Monday and was awaiting a response.
Shane’s Rib Shack offers a varied menu of classic barbecue, including pulled pork sandwiches, saucy ribs, chicken and Southern sides. Think: mac and cheese, potato salad, baked beans and more.

Customers can also choose from several burger options, along with loaded baked potatoes, French fries and salads.
The Rock Hill restaurant was one of a few remaining Shane’s Rib Shacks in the Charlotte-area. The one in Steele Creek closed in February “after many great years,” the restaurant wrote at the time.
Charlotteans will now have to make the roughly 30-mile drive to Gastonia to get their fix of Shane’s Rib Shack favorites.
