The pet-friendly pub at 1404 West Morehead St., closed in late June after a change in ownership, Anthony Reese, general manager of the restaurant’s NoDa location, told CharlotteFive.
The Morehead location wasn’t listed on JackBeagle’s website as of Monday, July 20, although a Google listing showed it as “open.” Reese confirmed the restaurant was sold to Small Bar, a neighborhood dive bar known for its craft cocktails and beer.
A registration for “Small Bar Morehead, LLC” was filed with the NC Secretary of State’s Office on June 26, online records show.

The bar has existing spots in South End, AvidXchange Music Factory and in Fort Mill, and is slated to open a new location in Optimist Park. CharlotteFive reached out to Small Bar for more information on Monday but didn’t immediately hear back.
A local favorite, JackBeagle’s offers classic breakfast like omelettes and hearty biscuit sandwiches. The lunch and dinner menus feature a wide variety of burgers and sandwiches, alongside chicken wings, mac and cheese and loaded waffle fries, among other bar bites.
