Two 19-year-olds killed one man, then assaulted 3 others, Huntersville police say

The two 19-year-old suspects in a Huntersville homicide assaulted three other people during the same incident, Huntersville police say.

Details of what ignited the violence have not been released.

Henry Leonel Vindall Branco, of Charlotte, was fatally shot around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, in an industrial park along Weller Way, near Bryton Corporate Center Drive, Huntersville police say. Twenty-year-old Branco died after being taken to a Charlotte hospital, officials say.

Jose Quintanilla-Cordova and Dorian Jassier Tabora Oro have been arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection with the shooting, Huntersville police said in a June 3 news release.

The two Charlotte men assaulted three other people around the same time, leading to them facing three additional counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, court documents report.

Details of injuries suffered during the three victims have not been released, and investigators have not said if the suspects and victims were acquainted.

Quintanilla-Cordova was armed with a rifle during the assaults, and Oro had a handgun, police said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has filed a detainer on Oro, should he be released from jail, court records show.
